Having Fun Creating Cartoons

Here’s a fun resource. Have you ever wanted to make your own comics or cartoons? It’s easy if you use the website Toondoos: the world’s fastest way to create cartoons.
.
You can create your own characters using the TraitR feature.
I uploaded a photo of Duncan…
and made this cartoon of him.
You can also create characters from your imagination or generate random characters.
You can use your own characters, or hundreds of already drawn ones, to make your cartoons. Just choose a layout, add backgrounds and props, drag in your characters, change their emotions and postures, add speech bubbles… I dragged my cartoon Duncan into a street scene and added a bicycle in the above cartoon.
Then save your work… You can keep your cartoons private or share them publicly. They can be stored in your online gallery and also downloaded to your computer.
Here’s a simple cartoon I made to promote Suzie Andres’ book A Little Way of Homeschooling.
And here’s a cartoon I made to go with my blog story Why My Valentine is the Love of My Life.
I had a quick look at the ImagineR and goofified this photo…
… of someone nameless! (I could have made it a whole lot more horrifying!)
You can even make your own books…
There are lots of features on this site I haven’t yet explored but maybe you’d like to. It’s free. All you have to do is set up an account.
My cartoons are all very simple. I’m sure yours will be much better!
PS This site sometimes runs slowly so patience might be needed.

  1. The iPad has apps that can change photos into cartoons, Sue. It's very clever.

I'm looking forward to seeing some funny cartoons from you, now. We could have a HEEE HEEE Cartoon Meme and invite Victor:-D

    • Hi Vicky,

The BeFunky website also has a feature that changes photos to cartoons. You can add speech bubbles too. Probably your iPad app does this too. It sounds like your iPad has some wonderful apps and you are making the most of them.

Of course, you don't need any help creating cartoons. You can draw your own! Funny cartoons from me? I can put together a cartoon easily using TooDoos but it's the funny bit that I get stuck on. I just can't seem to think of ideas that work well in cartoons. You and Victor may have to have a meme without me! I am not in your league.

      Thank you for your comment.

PS Do any of your children like to make cartoons?
