A Little Way of Homeschooling: Free Copies to Win!

Everyone is talking about Suzie Andres’ book, A Little Way of Homeschooling or THE BOOK (as it is affectionately known in unschooling circles).
So many people have read Suzie’s book and are raving about it. Glowing reviews are popping up all over the Internet. It seems everyone has something to say about A Little Way of Homeschooling. Of course I have written my own review too: Unschooling: the Little Way. (This is the most popular of all my posts!)
And those who haven’t yet read THE BOOK are impatiently trying to get hold of a copy, having heard so many positive things about it. My own copies of Suzie’s books are in constant circulation between my friends.
Suzie emailed me today with three exciting bits of A Little Way of Homeschooling news.
First, Lisa Hendey at Catholic Mom has interviewed Suzie about her latest book.
Second, the number of 5 star reviews of THE BOOK at Amazon are increasing daily. Perhaps you could add a review of your own.
Here’s my Amazon review:
I have been homeschooling my children for nearly 20 years and I thought I no longer needed to read homeschooling books. That was before I saw Suzie Andres’ books! Suzie’s books have given me the confidence to continue doing what is best for our family: my children are learning the gentle way, the little way, the Catholic unschooling way. You will discover that Catholic unschooling is not a one-size-fits-all way of homeschooling, but a way of learning that is flexible and individual to each family. I thoroughly enjoyed finding out what Catholic unschooling looks like in the thirteen contributing families of “A Little Way of Homeschooling”. If you like the educational principles of unschooling but wonder how they can work within the framework of the Catholic Faith, or if you feel burdened by the task of teaching your own children and are looking for a more gentle little way, please read this book. You will find real treasure within its pages!
Thirdly, Judy at Benmakesten has three copies of A Little way of Homeschooling to give away. Please visit her blog for details.
So lots to do! Read the interview, write a review and enter the competition. I hope you win!

  1. Sue,
As my mother-in-law said to/about me recently, "We're going to have to get a girdle for her head, to keep it from getting too big."

You are so ridiculously kind – not that I have a problem with ridiculous kindness!

One slight correction and confession. I might have been the one that started calling it The Book, but never THE BOOK (she said modestly). Notice that I only capitalized the first letter of each word 🙂 And here is where I am ridiculous – calling it either one! – but the focus on St. Therese and the chapters written by so many wonderful women (since the book is not simply authored by me)- ease my conscience in trying to promote "The Book" and spread the word about Jesus' tender love for us…

I am continually grateful for the five dozen people (at a low estimate) who have been part of this project, and I rejoice with every mom who is finding solace in Therese's (and the contributors') words in A Little Way of Homeschooling.

Do enter Judy's contest, dear readers. Yesterday I had the unexpected privilege of meeting one of the winners of the last giveaway. She said A Little Way "dropped into her lap" when she won. In fact, she almost didn't enter the drawing, saying to herself, "I never win anything." But Jesus says, "Behold, I make all things new!" She did enter, she did win, and she did read the book – starting with Part III, written by the ladies who combine unschooling ideas with other educational approaches. She told me she highlighted and bookmarked just about everything there!

Thank you again, Sue, for your blogs and your help in spreading the word about Catholic unschooling. May St. Therese shower you and your readers with buckets and bushels of roses!

Judy's drawing is August 21st. Hope you all enter!

    with gratitude and love,
    Suzie

  2. You are quite right, Suzie. You started calling "A Little Way of Homeschooling" The Book. THE BOOK is my own invention but I like it and think it deserves all capitals, and so I shall keep it. That's the nice thing about having my own blog! Anyway, I don't think anyone's going to complain. It's a great book.

And how could we not call it THE BOOK when St Therese plays such a big part in it and all the other families? As my mum would say, you are just going to have to widen all your doorways!!! (if the girdle doesn't work).

And no thanks needed. You don't realise that everyone comes here to read your comments, not my posts! I should be thanking you for dropping in so regularly to share with us.

May St Therese pray for us, may your book sell loads of copies, may all mothers who are struggling with homeschooling find out about The Little Way of unschooling.

And may God bless you, Suzie.
