UnVlogging: Writing, Video Making, Record Keeping…

It’s been a busy week! Too much writing, not enough reading… I feel a bit out of touch. I wonder what you’ve been doing. I hope you’ve had a good week!
So what have I been busy doing?
You might know I’m doing the A – Z blogging challenge over at my Sue Elvis Writes blog. The girls have been making videos. And I’ve been getting my homeschooling records up-to-date before Easter…
I was hoping to write a post but thought it would be far quicker just to chat to you. So all my week’s news is on my latest video:
Sue’s UnVlogging Video 1. Will you take a look? I hope so!
And please stop by and share your own week. I’d love to hear your news.
PS Do you like the word ‘unvlogging’? Thank you Wendy for creating it for me!
If you’re interested… You can also find me on my Sue Elvis Writes Facebook page. It’s a public page so even if you don’t have a Facebook account, you can still read the posts and comments. I often post links to resources and other interesting stuff. I’d love to see you there!

      Nancy,

I really felt like I was chatting to my friends while I made this video. Maybe I'm relaxing more. The camera isn't so scary after all! Thank you so much for watching. I didn't end up chatting to myself. You came to visit!

Your family has had a really busy week, from the sounds of it! I've also heard much recommendations about Evernote, but am still stubbornly using my own old method. Now you've got me thinking that I ought to take a look at Evernote and update how I do my records. Thanks for sharing your week!

      Hwee,

I am a stubborn person too and I often stick to my own way of doing things, so I was surprised I actually looked at Evernote. I was even more surprised I liked it! Maybe you will like it too. Thank you so much for watching my video!

I love the unvlogging video, Sue! It was so nice to hear your voice and to see you in a video instead of a picture 🙂

      Mary,

Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. Videos are much more intimate than words. Now you can imagine my voice when reading my posts!

      Mary,

Thank you! I hope I get to hear your voice one day. I don't suppose all my blogging friends would like to post a short video of themselves, just for me. Perhaps not!

      Monica,

It's funny how we are all a bit self-conscious when we listen to our own voices. It took me a while to get used to the sound of my voice on the video. Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for watching.

      Dulcinea,

You make me smile too! You don't know how much I appreciate your comment. Videos can be a nuisance to watch. I was thinking I'd better stick to written posts in the future. But maybe I can sneak in a few videos, here and there! Thank you!

Evernote? I will definitely write that post after Easter. Try it out! I love it. I'm sure you will too. We'll share notes about it soon!

Hi, Sue, loved the video! I am enjoying the unvlogging, although it generally takes me three or four tries to get through. That has nothing to do with your video, and everything to do with little people who come curl up on my lap and then start talking to me. It's not really a problem, per se, just funny to me! Fortunately, You Tube just pauses the video until I get back. Actually, it's very much like when I have a friend over for tea!!

I would be interested to see your Evernote post. I use my blog for a great deal of record keeping, but it still leaves me scrolling through tags to put together the actual portfolio. It's a bit too crazy here just now to check it out, but maybe our post will inspire me.

Speaking of crazy: we are starting our big imaginary trip the Tuesday after Easter! We will "visit" Annabelle in Hawaii for a few days, and then we'd like to "visit" you next Friday. The general plan is to fly into Brisbane, rent a van and drive down to visit you, then drive down the coast until we see fairy penguins. Imaginarily.

I imagine it will be lots of fun!

      Wendy,

I'm glad you enjoyed my unvlogging! Great idea of yours!

Yes, watching videos can be difficult at times. Thank you so much for persisting with mine. I tried not to make it too long but somehow time slipped away. It's hard to have a proper chat in only several minutes! Yes, in real life conversations also get interrupted by little ones who need attention. That's just part of a mother's life.

I am going to write an Evernote post after Easter. I am sure you are just as busy as us at the moment, with Easter only hours away. We will be celebrating the Easter Vigil in 5 1/2 hours' time!

Oh you are coming to visit. How exciting! I used to live in Brisbane as a child. It's quite a long drive down the coast to here. We haven't been to Brisbane for a long time but on our last trip up that way, we stopped off at Coff's Harbour for the night. Be sure to see the Big Pineapple and Big Banana! The Glass House Mountains are magnificent.

      "See' you next Friday!
