Andy entertained us with this Three Wise Men story, as we ate dinner the other night. “Where did you get that from?” I asked. Andy thinks he heard it in a Ken Robinson talk, probably one of his TED talks.
Sir Ken Robinson, PhD is an internationally recognised leader in the development of education, creativity and innovation. He is also one of the world’s leading speakers with a profound impact on audiences everywhere. (I copied that from his website!)
I think the idea behind the story comes from the inventive nature of children. When they don’t understand something, they are not afraid to try out their own ideas in order to make sense of the situation.
Ken Robinson has made a number of very entertaining videos which Andy and I have enjoyed very much. I have also read his books Out of Our Minds and The Element.
Ken Robinson challenges the way we think about education.

PS: After watching the TED talk again, I realise I misquoted Ken Robinson’s story. I think the boy said, “Frank sent it!” and not “Frank sent me!” It is too much work to change the cartoon so it will have to stay as it is!
