10 Reasons Why You Should Read My Blog

10Reasons28229-1

What if someone said, “Sue, there are lots of people writing about unschooling. Why should I follow your blog and read your posts?” What would I say?

I did some thinking and came up with 10 reasons why you might consider reading my blog. And here they are:

1. Do you want to ponder unschooling ideas without feeling pressured to do things a certain way?
Then you can do that here. All families are different. But we can still share and learn from each other even if we’re not all the same.

2. Do you want to read about unschooling from the baby stage to the young adult stage?
I’ve written posts about babies and toddlers, and married adult children, and every age in between. Attachment parenting? Learning to read? Graduating from university? Yes, I covered all that and much more.

3. Do you want to avoid blogs where everything seems depressingly perfect?
Well, you are quite safe here. We’re certainly not perfect. I’m willing to admit that. I share my mistakes as well as the good stuff. But I try to add a touch of hope to my mistake stories. There has to be a reason for sharing them because I don’t want my blog to be depressing.

4. Perhaps you want to hear stories about real unschooling children?
I write about my children all the time. Aren’t I fortunate they don’t mind me sharing their stories? I can give specific examples to illustrate what unschooling can look like. And practically all my posts are evergreen so there’s lots to read.

5. Do you enjoy videos and podcasts as well as blog posts?
You’ll find all three here. I’ve even made videos and podcasts with my children, so you can share their thoughts and see unschooling from a child’s perspective.

6. Do you like to chat? Do you have any questions?
This is a friendly place. You can leave a comment or email me. I’m quite happy to talk.

7. Do you want to share parenting stories?
Somewhere along the way, unschooling flowed over into my parenting. It now affects everything we do. We discovered a life of joy and love. Would you like to hear about that?

8. Are you looking for resources for strewing?
I love sharing the ones I find. I’m always looking for things that might be of interest to my girls, and I post about them here, and then put them on my Pinterest boards too.

9. You’re not unschoolers?
That’s okay. Not all my readers unschool. Unschooling is about learning from life.  And we all do that even if we don’t call ourselves unschoolers.

10. Are you thinking about unschooling, but you’re not quite sure it’s for you?
I hope my stories will encourage you to say, “I want to unschool too! We can do it!” I hope my passion is reflected in my blog, and it inspires you to give unschooling a go.And here’s a bonus reason!

Are you looking for information about homeschool record keeping?
I have LOADS of Evernote ideas! I’m always talking and writing and making videos about how we can use Evernote to record unschooling in an impressive way. I also share my registration experiences.

So that’s what I’d say if someone asked, “Why should I read your blog?” Not that anyone ever has. But just in case someone does, I now have my answer.

So, do you want to join me and read my blog? I hope you do!

  1. I read and follow you for most of those reasons.
I am investigating unschooling, interested to read about another's journey with multiaged kids, with a warts and all perspective. I'm interested in evernote tips and strewing tips. And now I've become interested in following you and your family's adventures!

    • Jazzy Jack,

I forgot about Evernote and homeschool record keeping. How could I have done that when everyone knows how much I love Evernote? I shall have to add an 11th reason! I am so glad you are finding my blog useful. I love having you as a reader. Thank you so much for your kind feedback!

  2. You forgot my favorite! #12 Sue shares her unconditional love and encouragement with all her blog readers. You always come away feeling better for having stopped by!

    • Wendy,

Oh, I do want to share the message of unconditional love. I'm so glad that message comes over well. Thank you so much for this beautiful comment which has just encouraged me!

  3. This list really sums up all the reasons I am drawn to your blog. What I appreciate most is the lack of pressure to do things a certain way. It allows me to grow while finding my own way, rather than feeling anxious because I'm not doing things "right."

    • Amy,

I think we all have to find our own way. We have to listen to our own kids so we know what their individual needs are. But it's good to connect with other parents and share ideas. resources and support. Thank you so much for reading my blog!
