An Elvis Family Tradition

On Easter Sunday I say, “It’s time to sing By Your Kingly Power O Risen Lord!” Gemma-Rose finds the hymn books, I set up my camera on the tripod, and everyone lines up. They know the routine. We’ve been singing our favourite hymn on Easter Sunday morning for years. It’s an Elvis family tradition.

“Are you ready?” I ask. A moment later I hit the ‘record’ button. And everyone opens their mouths and sings. Several minutes later, I have my annual recording.

As usual, everyone has big smiles on their faces. We can’t help it. We’re all overflowing with Easter joy.

We hope you’re having a very joyful Easter too.

Happy Easter from the Elvises!

    • Faith,

Thank you so much for your kind comment. Aren't we fortunate to have so many meaningful and beautiful traditions and pieces of music to help us celebrate Easter? I've had lots of happy tears in my eyes recently. Easter is definitely the highlight of our year. We're very blessed. Happy Easter!

    • Uglemor,

Sometimes it seems a bother to get out the camera and get everyone assembled to sing, but we are always so glad we make the effort. After making this video we had a look at last year's. The girls have grown so much in a year. Also, their singing has improved! Thank you for watching. Happy Easter to you and your family!

    • Susie,

Thank you so much for your beautiful Easter greeting. Peace, Love, Joy, and Happiness… I hope you, the Husband and the Mama are blessed with all these too during this Easter season.

  1. The true grace and mercy of God can be seen when a family praises the Lord Together and is every ready to pray. May god Bless you. GOD IS the BEST!
    LOVE

  2. I just want to mention that your podcast is wonderful. Now one thing that I know for sure is that modern educators have become cynical and finical in the matters of what needs to be stored (vitally) in a child's mind. And let us see what many have become?
A teacher need not to be M.ed to help the pupil carry the oars in the sea of future. The only requirement is to teach the pupil morality, responsibility and confidence to volunteer. As a third person, I observed the girls to be perfectly genius. If they are responsible to the society at such an impressionable age, I reckon they are sure to become treasure for the society. As in the end, no one asks you or judge you by your degree..but what did you become definitely shows up every now and then!

Thanks for giving a new dimension!

    • Naqvee,

Thank you so much for listening to my podcast. A new dimension? It is always good to talk about such things, especially when people stop by to join in the discussion. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts which I found very encouraging. Thank you!
