Life after University: Following Dreams

My daughter Imogen has finished her Bachelor of Arts degree. For the past three years, she’s been studying Professional Writing and Publishing. Now Imogen is about to set off on new adventures. So what will she be doing? I thought I’d interview Imogen to find out.

Imogen was very happy to answer my questions about her university experience and her plans for the future. They include:

Did she like studying online?
What does she want to do now?
The quick answer to that question is:

I like the idea of working for myself on my own schedule, being able to follow up what I’m interested in, and do the things I like to do…

It sounds like Imogen wants to continue being an unschooler!
What specific plans does Imogen have?
How is she going to support herself in the near future?
Should parents push a child to independence as soon as possible?
Or should they continue to help and encourage a child to follow her dreams?

So here’s my latest interview with Imogen: Life After University: Following Dreams

I interviewed Imogen a couple of years ago at the beginning of her second year of university. She talked about unschooling in general as well as university. Have her thoughts changed over the past two years? I’ll add the interview just in case you’d like to watch that one too.

And finally, Imogen joined me for one of my podcast episodes to talk about Talents, Dreams, Working and Unworking.

Is all that too much? Have I gone overboard with university, passions and dreams? I suppose I have unless, of course, you’re looking for ideas and encouragement on these topics!

Thank you, Imogen, for sharing your thoughts and experiences!
